Buying a DID number without paperwork

Pick a country, pay from your wallet, and the number is live. A walk through of how inbound numbers work at TelPrivo and what to plan for.

An inbound number - a DID - is how people reach you. Traditionally, buying one means a form, an address proof and a wait of several days. With us it is a wallet payment and an instant activation.

Choosing the right number

  • Local numbers make you look present in a city. Best for sales and support in one market.
  • National numbers work when you serve a whole country and do not want to imply a single office.
  • Toll-free numbers shift the call cost to you and raise answer rates for consumer support.

What you pay

Two amounts: a one-off activation and a monthly fee. Both are shown before you confirm, along with the wallet balance you will have left. Renewal happens from the same wallet, so keep a small buffer if you do not want to think about it.

Routing it somewhere

A number is useless until calls land. In the order sheet you choose the trunk that should receive the calls, and optionally a failover address for the moments your system is down. You can change both later without buying a new number.

Before you buy

Check the channel count you need. One number handles the number of simultaneous calls listed next to it; busy support lines usually want more than the default. If you are unsure, start small - adding a second number later takes a minute.
